There’s no easy "yes" or "no"  answer to that because it depends on several factors.  An installation needs a smooth surface and relies upon subfloor type and condition. Also, keep in mind that waterproof floors are engineered vinyl, which means there might be underlayments already built-in; sometimes, we see that with LVT, adding another creates problems. The best thing to do is talk to us about this when you are shopping for waterproof flooring in Tampa Bay.

Between the surface and subfloors

If your subfloor isn’t in the best shape, you may want to consider an underlayment that will flatten that surface and make your floor covering look and perform better. An underlayment also provides cushioning, eliminates sound, and, in some cases, even improves bonding.

Appropriate for all rooms

Think again if you think these floors are only ideal for kitchens, baths, laundry rooms, and other wet locations.  Although they are waterproof, they have all the gorgeous luxury vinyl designs (LVF) with true-to-life images of wood, stone, and tile.

LVF is also waterproof, but these floors add an even higher protection level and won’t peel or ripple ever, no matter how much water there is or for how long. The vinyl here is also thicker, which makes them even more durable, and they are, of course, low maintenance with only a sweeping and damp mopping required.

We see these floors in every room in the house, including living and dining spaces, hallways, bedrooms, and kids' rooms, the latter being no stranger to those “oops!” moments, such as spilled milk or juice.
